About Dram Fools

The Band

Dram Fools is an eclectic two-man band from Syracuse, New York. Everyone asks what kind of music they play, and they’re still struggling with the answer. All their lyrics and music are collaboratively written and original. Think vocal-driven R&B-jazz-pop-Celtic-alternative and you’ll have, well, still no idea really. So it’s better to just follow them, listen to a few tracks, and find your favorite song!

Bios

Gavin grew up in the UK and started piano lessons when he was about 8. Although he was taught classically, his sight-reading is awful and he has always been far more comfortable playing by ear. After several years in the professional music recording industry in London, he moved to the US and developed his skills as a singer, songwriter, keyboardist and arranger.

Gavin’s favorite scotch is Tomatin 18. Or Lagavulin Distiller’s Edition. Or maybe Wolfburn.

Bob came from Buffalo, New York, to attend Syracuse University. He took years to graduate, was a partner in an animation business, eventually went back to school and became a clinical social worker. While Bob always fostered a deep love for music, he took to guitar lessons fairly late in life, which opened up the floodgates of songwriting. He is a cerebral lyricist, and usually has a very clear idea in his head of what a song wants to sound like.

Bob’s favorite scotch is Tomatin 18. Or Oban Distiller’s Edition. Or maybe… dram, there are so many.

Dram Fools’ first album, Whisky River, was released on September 27th, 2025.
